NHS Tower Hamlets recognises how important learning and development is to both the individual member of staff and the organisation.
Our aim is to build skills and maximise our learning and development resources.
Dedicated training team
We have a dedicated learning and development team within the organisation who offer a wide range of in-house courses, and commission external training programmes from university providers and other independent bodies.
We offer a wide range of learning and development opportunities for all staff including:
- team leadership,
- management development,
- clinical skills courses,
- equality and diversity,
- information Governance,
- ICT training,
- mentoring,
- team building, and
- 360○ feedback among many others.
We also work closely with our primary care community and provide a range of GP education programmes, including protected learning time and seminar sessions. Our work with GP appraisers has been recognised nationally.
Our new education centre at Mile End Hospital
To support our commitment to staff development, NHS Tower Hamlets has invested in a modern, state-of-the-art education centre based at Mile End Hospital.
With these new facilities, we aim to provide an outstanding learning environment to enable staff to develop their skills and continue to deliver outstanding patient care to the community of Tower Hamlets.
