We’ve made it easier and quicker to register with and see a GP (local doctor) if you live in Tower Hamlets. As a resident you should be able to:
- register with your local practice,
- see a GP within 48 hours,
- book an appointment in advance,
- get help from your local pharmacist,
- get the support of an interpreter.
Register with your local practice
All GP practices in Tower Hamlets are registering new patients. See GP services and how to find a doctor to find the surgery most convenient for you.
See a GP within 48 hours
If you need a routine appointment and want to see a GP quickly you can now see a doctor at your local surgery within 48 hours. (If you want to see a named doctor you may have to book in advance.)
Book an appointment in advance
You can book an appointment with your GP up to two weeks in advance, at time and date which is more convenient for you.
Nine out of ten surgeries in Tower Hamlets now include appointments before 8am or after 6.30pm. Some practices are also open on Saturdays. To find opening information for your local surgery, please see GP services and how to find a doctor.
Get help from your local pharmacist
You may find it more convenient to talk to your local pharmacist about some health problems as part of our Pharmacy first service. All you need to do is to register through your GP and choose the pharmacy of your choice.
